The Lost Princess

“I was called to that place.

A place I had been to once before.

I knew I shouldn’t go back

but it whispered to me….

“You belong here, you belong to us”.

A woman with dark skin and elaborate braided hair adorned with white beads is looking into a large ornate mirror surrounded by vines, with a dark purple background and a crescent moon at the top. Candles on either side cast a soft glow.

I created a speed-paint and spoken story about a portrait of a weeping princess. I wrote the story in November 2023 as part of a 3-word prompt. I came up with a story and illustration, using 3 words -

  • Mood - somber

  • Place - forest

  • Word - lost

After brainstorming with the 3 words I started writing out a story and given the season and my interests, I decided to write a short mystery story.

Listen to the full story and watch the speed paint below.
