I’m finally back
Hey gang, I’m finally back and right as we hit halfway through 2025!
I needed the time away to decide what I wanted to do with my art and writing. I was hitting roadblocks with my story “Above & Below“, and my personal life kept hitting me with challenges and self-doubt. While things are not perfect, I am in a place where I’m like “Fuck it!” let’s not try and make an elaborate plan like I usually do, let’s just write down the main project’s I would love to complete this year and work backwards.
Plans for 2025
Ok, so I’m not gonna hold you, here are my plans [and yes, I’m aware some of these are the same plans I’ve had for a while now, but it’s time to commit]:
Design and illustrate A&B prologue story - “Before The End“ - [the story is all written, I’m currently working on the storyboards for the comic]
Illustrate the major arcana cards or the first 10 cards for my first tarot deck.
Work on my Book Cover portfolio - 4-8 covers, focusing on the Fantasy and Romance genres. I already have 6 imaginary titles in mind, mind you, as I have been writing more and more, they might turn into novels of their own 😉.
Bonus: Start a daily or weekly art journal 😊
I also had the idea to write a children’s book story based on Bo and Cody, but I’m not sure I’ll have time. But I do have some titles and ideas for an adventure series.
Current Project
Last but not least, I’ve been working on a mini-comic for a competition by MangaDraft. I thought this would be a great way to get me going, competition, a deadline and set guidelines. The competition closes on the 29th of June, so I have about a month left 🫠 but I’m determined to push myself and enter, especially as I keep going back and forth about my A&B story being a comic, visual novel or just a written novel. Here are the dets:
Theme: "First love"
One shot: Colour or black and white
Number of pages:
BD / Manga / Comics: From 8 to 16 pages max + 1 cover (I.e. between 9 and 17 cover pages included).
Webtoon: From 40 to 80 boxes max.
Style: Free
Tools: Free (Traditional or digital of your choice).
Dimensions: Minimum required width of 800px for uploading on Mangadraft/
Reading direction: No obligation - at your choice
All audiences: Your project must not contain erotic or pornographic scenes or bloody scenes.
Language: French or English
Other: A 500 x 500px thumbnail must be added for your project sheet. You can crop / crop a page of your project to put it as a thumbnail instead of creating one specifically.
All right, that’s it, that’s the tweet, that’s the post. I didn’t want to overwrite this, I just wanted to start writing again and start sharing the process of writing my book series and developing my creative practice. Speaking of, did you know I’ve written and created a mentorship and course about developing your own creative practice? Based on all my own struggles with my practice?!?! Yeah I’ll save that for another blog post.
