Hello and welcome to the blog
Hey and welcome to my first update! I feel like this is a good time to get everyone up to speed with what’s going on with the project and everything else I’ve been up to lately.
I left Patreon. I had to. I had some issues with the site, I didn’t love the layout and I felt like I had been neglecting my own website, a place I always wanted to grow, more so than any other social media or subscription site I’ve signed up to. My Patreon is still up for now, but I’ll probably delete all the links and then close it down.
Now, about this blog, it’s my online creative journal documenting the development and world-building of my graphic novel *//Above and Below. I'm currently in the pre-production stage and this blog will document not just the development of this story but also my art practice. I really, really want to get back into traditional art and learn techniques that I feel, will help me with my digital art process.
I’ll be practicing with acrylic gouache, ink, pencils {original bae}, watercolor? and maybe even oil paint.

In a galaxy where stars not only light up the night sky but sometimes assume human form, there was a power that would one day destroy the darkness that threatened to devour the light.
//*Above & Below is a post-apocalyptic, mystery/romance with overarching themes about technology vs nature, with several major characters. The story revolves around a girl called Bo and triplets Seven, Red and Skye, who have been told of a prophecy.
Bo is looking for her mother, and the Consumers are looking for a source of power. Bo must learn how to tap into her power to defeat the consumers before the next cosmic jump and the Consumers believe the triplets are the key to opening the portal, which will allow the rest of their kind into this galaxy. It will take all the girls to come together, to regenerate the crystal and defeat the consumers once and for all.
Characters
Bo is the protagonist/hero of the story. She is a Light Seeker and a direct descendant of the Ohnahi, her ancestors are from Orion. She lives on Reeva in a small island village outside Neon City. While her sisters have the power of first sight and healing, she has the power of creation, whereby she can create new crystals and fuse together living matter and inorganic materials.
She does have magical powers, but one of her favorite things to do is explore her village and look for the different kinds of hybrid mushrooms, flowers and rare crystals, And then practice magically fusing living and inorganic materials.
Cody is her best friend. Bo met him in the forest when she was younger. Fast friends, Cody helps Bo on her journey and has magic skills of his own. He also has the ability to grow black orchid mushrooms from minerals for healing. Animals are now like familiars. In this now broken world, humans on Reeva and newborns now have a natural connection and or affinity to a particular animal or species. This is a magical link to help humans and animals rebuild the broken planet. Animals now talk and some move in more human ways. The strongest connection, apart from Bo and Cody, is with those from the Wilds of Wind & Flame tribe, who actively work to clear the toxic spores on the planet.
Alchemics are people who have the natural ability to work the magic of crystals. Their objectives are 'The Study of magic, science and bio-magical crystals that hold or transmit celestial energy, and to protect and advance life on Reeva and its inhabitants. By studying the crystals, they can harness and use the energy via physical objects they hold during battle or make items and weapons from them.
